These fittings connect lengths of PEX pipe, creating secure joints for fluid flow. Some common types of PEX pipe fittings include:
1.Crimp Fittings: Crimp fittings require the use of a special crimping tool to compress a metal ring around the PEX pipe and the fitting, creating a tight seal.
2.Push-to-Connect Fittings: These fittings are designed for quick, tool-free installation. The PEX pipe simply pushes into the fitting, which locks into place with an internal mechanism. They’re great for DIY projects or areas where crimping or clamping is difficult.
3.Compression Fittings: These fittings work by compressing a ring around the pipe and fitting, using a nut to tighten and secure the connection.
4.Expansion Fittings: Used for PEX-A (which can be expanded), these fittings require the pipe to be expanded using an expansion tool and then inserted into the fitting. Once the pipe returns to its normal size, the fitting is secured.
