Bending PEX pipe can be done easily, but it's important to follow the right steps to avoid damaging the pipe or causing it to kink. Here’s how you can bend PEX pipe properly:
Tools You’ll Need:
PEX pipe

Method 1: Manual Bending (for smaller diameters)
Heat the PEX:
To make PEX more flexible, you'll need to heat it. You can use a heat gun or a hair dryer. Heat the section of pipe that you want to bend for a few minutes until it becomes soft and pliable.
Bend Slowly:
Once the pipe is heated, carefully bend it by hand. Don’t rush the process—bend it slowly to avoid kinking. Apply even pressure along the pipe to create the desired curve.

Tips:
Avoid sharp bends: PEX has a minimum bend radius, which you should avoid exceeding to prevent kinking or breaking the pipe. The general rule is that the bend radius should be at least five times the diameter of the pipe.
Use fittings when necessary: If a bend is too tight, you may want to use a fitting to make the connection instead of forcing a tight bend. It can be more reliable and safer in the long run.
Work slowly: Avoid applying excessive force, and bend the pipe gradually. Rushing can lead to damaging the PEX.
