Manifold

The manifold serves several functions in the system:

Distribution: The manifold distributes the heated water from the heat source (boiler or heat pump) to the various zones or loops of the underfloor heating system.

Control: It incorporates valves or actuators to control the flow of hot water to each zone or loop. This allows for individual room temperature control and zoning, so different areas of the building can be heated independently.

Balancing: The manifold typically includes flow meters or flow regulators to balance the flow of water between different zones. Balancing ensures that each area receives the correct amount of heat according to its needs, optimizing comfort and energy efficiency.

Monitoring: Some modern manifolds may also include temperature gauges or sensors to monitor the temperature of the water entering and leaving each zone, helping to ensure proper system operation and troubleshooting if issues arise.

Underfloor heating manifolds come in various configurations, depending on the size and complexity of the heating system. They can range from simple manifolds for small residential installations to more complex units for larger commercial or industrial applications. Proper design, installation, and maintenance of the manifold are essential for the efficient and effective operation of the underfloor heating system.
